Recently, the Food Corporation of India (FCI) introduced a digital transformation initiative aimed at modernizing its supply chain management system, known as the Depot Online System, with the launch of a new integrated system called Anna Darpan. This system is built using a microservices-based architecture and focuses on improving operational efficiency across the organization.

Anna Darpan System:

The Anna Darpan system has been developed with key objectives in line with the strategic vision of FCI leadership, and it aims to address various limitations in the current system. Some of the core features of the system include:

  • Enhanced Efficiency and Productivity: The system is designed to improve the overall efficiency and productivity of the supply chain.
  • Interactive and User-Friendly Interface: A focus on providing an intuitive and easy-to-navigate user interface to enhance user experience.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: The system enables the use of real-time data to make informed decisions, improving operational transparency and responsiveness.
  • Integration with Internal and External Systems: It facilitates seamless communication and coordination across both internal FCI systems and external stakeholders.
  • Merging of Existing Systems: The system consolidates and merges existing internal systems, optimizing workflows and reducing redundancy.
  • Mobile-First Approach: The system is designed with a mobile-first mindset to ensure accessibility and usability on mobile devices.
The Anna Darpan system is aimed at streamlining and enhancing operations across the entire supply chain, impacting areas such as Mandis, Mills, Depots (both owned and contracted), and various levels including divisional, regional, zonal, and headquarters operations.
