Eklavya Platform

The Ministry of Defence has recently launched Eklavya, an online learning platform designed for the Indian Army.
Objective:
The platform is aimed at enhancing the professional education and training of Indian Army officers as part of the Decade of Transformation (2023-2032) initiative, with a focus on the Year of Technology Absorption (2024). It is designed to promote modern learning and skill development for the Army's officers, improving their operational effectiveness and strategic capabilities.

Developed By:
Eklavya was developed by the Bhaskaracharya National Institute of Space Applications and Geoinformatics (BISAG-N), located in Gandhinagar.

Content:
Eklavya hosts a range of courses, with 96 courses currently available, contributed by 17 Category ‘A’ Training Establishments of the Indian Army. The courses cover diverse areas of knowledge, catering to different professional needs of the officers.

Course Categories:

  1. Pre-course Preparatory Capsules: These courses aim to transition basic offline, physical courses into online modules, enabling easier access and flexibility for the officers.
  2. Appointment/Assignment Related Courses: This category includes specialized courses on subjects like information warfare, defence land management, financial planning, and discipline and vigilance.
  3. Professional Development Suite: These courses focus on areas such as strategy, operational art, leadership, organizational behaviour, and emerging technologies, providing advanced knowledge and skills relevant to modern military operations.
Centralized Knowledge Hub:
Eklavya also features a Knowledge Highway, a centralized knowledge repository where officers can access a variety of academic resources such as journals, research papers, and articles, all housed in one platform for ease of access and learning.

This initiative is a significant step in modernizing the Indian Army's education system, fostering continuous learning, and promoting the adoption of technology in military training and operations.
