Jal Jeevan Mission

The Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) is a flagship initiative launched by the Government of India under the Ministry of Jal Shakti. It aims to provide safe and adequate drinking water to all rural households in the country through Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) by 2024.


Key Features
  1. Universal Access:
    • Ensures access to piped drinking water for every rural household in India.
    • Special focus on areas affected by water quality issues, drought-prone regions, deserts, and Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana villages.
