The PM Vishwakarma Yojana, launched in 2023, has already received over two million applications, highlighting the interest and need for a scheme focused on enhancing the skills and livelihoods of traditional artisans and craftspeople across India.

    • Ministry: The scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

    • The scheme focuses on 18 traditional crafts, such as:
      • Boat Maker
      • Armourer
      • Blacksmith
      • Hammer and Tool Kit Maker
      • And others that engage artisans in handcraft-based industries.
    • Family Coverage:
      • 5 lakh families will be covered in the first year.
      • A total of 30 lakh families will benefit over the five-year period.
