PM YASASVI Scheme

On Republic Day 2025, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment engaged with student beneficiaries of the PM-YASASVI Scheme, reaffirming its commitment to providing quality education to marginalized communities.

About the Scheme:

Launched by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, PM-YASASVI aims to empower students from disadvantaged backgrounds by offering financial assistance for education.

Eligibility Criteria:

The scheme is open to students from OBC, Economically Backward Classes (EBC), and Denotified Tribes (DNT) families with an annual income of up to Rs. 2.5 lakh.

Components of the Scheme:

  1. Pre-Matric Scholarship: Offers Rs. 4,000 annually for students from families earning below Rs. 2.5 lakh.
  2. Post-Matric Scholarship: Provides between Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 20,000, depending on the level of education.
  3. Higher Education Support: Full financial assistance, covering tuition fees, living expenses, and study materials, for students attending top colleges.
  4. Hostel Facilities: Accommodation support for students near government schools and colleges.
Complementary Programs:
The scheme operates alongside initiatives like the National Scholarship for Disabled Students and the INSPIRE Scholarship, further expanding opportunities for educational advancement.
