SATHI Portal

Recently, the Department of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare (DA&FW) organised a National Workshop on the SATHI (Seed Authentication, Traceability, and Holistic Inventory) Portal in New Delhi.

About the SATHI Portal:

  • Purpose: Developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), the SATHI portal aims to revolutionize seed certification and inventory management. It addresses the growing concerns related to seed quality and traceability for farmers, ensuring the authenticity and transparency of seed supply chains.
  • Efficiency: The portal will optimise processes to reduce the time spent on registrations, approvals, and certifications, thus improving the overall efficiency of seed certification. Additionally, it offers environmentally friendly operational alternatives to traditional methods.
  • Technology Partner: The National Informatics Centre (NIC), under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), is the technology partner for this initiative. NIC, established in 1976, is responsible for providing technology-driven solutions to both Central and State Governments in various developmental sectors.
